Cree Nation Child & Family Caring Agency provides community-based child and family services and programs to the member first nations of the Swampy Cree Tribal Council: Chemawawin, Marcel Colomb, Mathias Colomb, Misipawistik, Mosakahiken, Sapotaweyak, and Wuski Sipihk. By incorporating both protection services and prevention programs, Cree Nation Child and Family Caring Agency will place paramount importance on family unity in our communities.

drummingOne essential component of the agency’s operations is Child & Family Services. The Regional Office situated in Opaskwayak provides advisory and financial management support to Six (6) Local Offices in each of our communities as well as Winnipeg, Flin Flon, Swan River, Thompson, and Lynn Lake.

The Unit Coordinators provide support and supervision to Senior Workers, Local Workers, and Administrative Assistants. The agency provides community-based services by incorporating both child protection services and prevention programs. Emphasis is placed on the safety of children and the steadfast concept of family unity and reunification.

Cree Nation Child and Family Caring Agency provides Child Welfare services for children and families in the City of Winnipeg and surrounding areas as well as children from our Northern Communities that are placed on a short or long term basis for reasons such as treatment centers, medical needs, and specialized/group home placements. The Winnipeg Sub-office works closely with families and children on all AJI-CWI transferred cases. They also work in corroboration with the local staff on developing case plans for children in Winnipeg on short term placements.
